Total and Permanent Disability Student Loan Discharge
As of September 2021, more than 323,000 borrowers were expected to have automatic discharges of their student loans under TPD, but 100,000s of other individuals are eligible.
If you or your client are a 100% service-connected veteran, receiving SSDI or SSI with a 5–7-year review cycle (medical improvement unexpected), or your treating medical provider believes you have a disability that has lasted or will last for 60 months, we can help you get your student loans discharged.
Salus Law offers low-cost student loan discharges to better serve your clients. Our system is easy to integrate and only requires your intake team to ask one additional question—do you have federal student loans? If the answer is yes, send us your client’s contact information and we will handle the rest.
Our service is best utilized after an approval for SSDI or SSI OR when your firm is considering a federal court appeal. This debt can be easily resolved within 3—6 months, in time to ensure the case is eligible for payments under EAJA.

Disability Planning Services
At Salus Law, we believe in specializing and staying focused on what we do best, which is why we don’t have a full-scale estate planning team. But, we also know that many practice areas overlap and when a law firm forgets that the client suffers.
We offer disability planning consultations and drafting services for attorneys and clients alike. Salus Law wants basic estate plans to be accessible which is why we offer Living Wills, Power of Attorneys, and Healthcare Directives to ensure our clients have a voice in their medical treatment.
Salus Law has worked with a number of SSI recipients whose lives were derailed because of a poorly planned estate. SSI is a needs-based program with income and resource limits. If you or your client have a disabled family member, they need to talk with us. There is nothing worse than an estate tied up in probate and watching my client lose his SSI for resources that he can’t access.
No one wants to see their family member lose everything because you left them money or property. We can ensure that your Special Needs Trust is statutorily compliant with all of SSA’s provisions.
Salus Law proudly serves as Local Counsel for out-of-state Estate Planning firms and can assist your clients in Washington and New York.

Appellate Referrals Program
Many attorneys and representatives focus their expertise on advocacy at hearings and do not handle appeals to federal courts. We partner with several offices to review the claims they believe were wrongfully denied and handle the federal court appeal, beginning to end. If we are successful in reversing an unfavorable decision, we’ll return the case to you for your client’s second chance. Contact us for more information about our appellate referrals program.
